Happy, merry, and lots of writing joy!

We’re sorry for the absence of blog last week: we’ve been working hard to finish December’s editing jobs so we can take some holiday writing time of our own. The blog will be silent until the new year while we turn our attention to our own internal worlds for a few days: Nicola to 7th-century Britain, and Kelley to her corporate-assassin screenplay. We’ll be back in 2010 with more exercises, more thoughts on writing and editing, more editcasts, and more conversation about the writing and publishing life.

Thank you to everyone who has visited our site, sent us thoughtful comments and emails, joined in the exercises, asked for sample edits, and trusted us to edit your stories, novels, business writing, nonfiction projects and screenplays. Thank you to our coaching clients and the writers who have signed up for our mentor program. We are grateful for your enthusiasm and support, and for your business. We’re honored to have the chance to help you make your writing better.

And above all, thank you for sharing with us the joy of writing. All of us who write know the electric thrill of a character, a moment, a story coming alive inside us; and the hard happy work of making it live on the page. It’s not always easy, but it is a joy. We hope your 2010 is full of writing, full of joy.

Have a lovely holiday. Write something wonderful! We’ll see you in 2010.

All best,

Nicola and Kelley

P.S. — We’re still available by email for any questions or comments you have. And don’t forget to book your NaNoWriMo Revision Special before December 31!
