Our weekly roundup of links we hope you’ll find interesting and useful.

  • Publishers Lunch is a mainstayof the industry.  Join.  Get a daily newsletter with news of interest from the publishing world. Great introduction for emerging writers to the business and the people in it.
  • From one of those publishing folks, editor and blogger Moonrat, some predictions about the future of publishing.
  • Writer Cherie Priest has an overview of what writers control in the publishing process. (Short answer: not much!)
  • When you can’t even control your own words, turn to Margaret Atwood for 10 tips to tackle writer’s block.
  • When the words are done, follow agent Ann Rittenberg’s advice to write a short and effective query letter.
  • And never forget novelist Carol Edgarian’s advice to a young writer (”Be a storyteller, first and last”) at Narrative Magazine. Registration is required, but Narrative is worth it.

If you have a link of interest to writers that you’d like to see in a roundup, please email us or leave a comment.
